What this part does
The armrest serves as the hinged cover for the center console storage compartment located between the front seats. It provides an ergonomic resting surface for the driver and passenger while securing the storage bin, USB ports, and internal media connections. When the internal latch mechanism or rear hinges fail, the lid may refuse to stay securely closed or will rattle over uneven road surfaces. Prolonged use can also cause the underlying foam to collapse or the leather covering to crack and separate from the plastic base frame.

Before you order
Confirm the upholstery material, color code, and stitching pattern of this armrest against the vehicle it is being installed into. The BMW 7 Series was manufactured with multiple leather grades, including Dakota, Nappa, and Merino, which have distinct textures. Additionally, verify if your specific vehicle is equipped with the heated armrest option (thermal comfort package), as the internal wiring and heating elements differ from standard unheated covers. The mounting hinges must align exactly with your existing lower console base.
