What this part does
The Front Left Brake Caliper houses the hydraulic pistons and brake pads for the driver side front wheel assembly. When hydraulic pressure is delivered from the master cylinder, the internal pistons extend to clamp the brake pads against the spinning rotor, generating the friction needed to slow the vehicle. When this component begins to fail, it typically seizes or leaks fluid. A seized caliper will cause the vehicle to pull to one side while braking, accelerate brake pad wear on that specific wheel, and generate excessive heat that can warp the brake rotor.
