What this part does
The rear passenger side airbag is a critical component of the vehicle's Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Positioned in the rear right seating area, it is engineered to deploy instantly during a lateral collision to protect the rear occupant's thorax and pelvic regions from impact forces. When an airbag deploys or experiences an internal circuit failure, the main SRS control module logs a permanent fault code and illuminates the airbag warning light, disabling the system until the spent or faulty unit is replaced.

Before you order
Airbag components must be handled and installed by qualified technicians following factory safety procedures. Always disconnect the vehicle's battery and wait the manufacturer-specified time before working on the SRS system. Inspect the vehicle's yellow SRS connectors and wiring harness for melting or physical damage caused by a previous deployment, as damaged pigtails will prevent the replacement airbag from connecting properly. Depending on the vehicle's condition, the main airbag control module may also require a professional reset or replacement to clear stored crash data before the new airbag is recognized.
