What this part does

This bracket secures the Front Right interior door handle to the metal structure of the door. It provides a rigid mounting point for the handle pivot mechanism and acts as the anchoring block for the door latch Bowden cable. Because this component is subjected to pulling force every time the passenger exits the vehicle, the plastic mounting tabs and pivot points are known to fatigue and snap over time. When this bracket fails, the inside door handle will pull away from the door panel, feel excessively loose, or entirely fail to actuate the latch, trapping the occupant inside.

Confirm that you require the bracket for the Front Right (Passenger) door, as these carriers are side-specific and will not fit the driver side. When replacing this bracket, it is highly recommended to inspect the condition of the interior door handle Bowden cable. A stretched or frayed cable will prevent the door from unlatching properly even with a fully intact bracket installed. Take care when removing the interior door panel to access this part, as the factory vapor barrier must be carefully peeled back and resealed to prevent water leaks into the cabin.
