What this part does
The A/C compressor operates as the primary pump of the climate control system, driven by the engine accessory belt. It pressurizes refrigerant gas and circulates it through the condenser and evaporator to extract heat from the cabin interior. When the internal seals or clutch mechanism fail, the climate system loses its ability to produce cold air, often accompanied by metallic grinding noises from the pulley or visible oil and refrigerant leaks around the housing body.

Before you order
Verify that your current A/C system failure did not circulate metal fragments through the lines. If the previous unit suffered an internal mechanical failure, you must thoroughly flush the entire system and replace the receiver drier and expansion valve before installing this replacement. Failure to remove debris will immediately destroy the new unit. Check the pulley ribs against your current setup to ensure correct belt alignment, and verify that the correct volume and viscosity of PAG oil is added prior to system charging.
