What this part does

The dashboard forms the primary interior structure spanning the front of the cabin beneath the windshield. It serves as the mounting point and structural support for the instrument cluster, climate controls, radio, and interior ventilation ducts. This main panel also houses and conceals the passenger-side airbag assembly and interior wiring harnesses. Over time, prolonged exposure to UV light and severe temperature changes can cause the factory vinyl and foam structure to crack, warp, or separate, necessitating a complete replacement.

Before you order

The BMW E39 chassis was offered with several interior color options, including Black, Sand Beige, and Grey. You must verify that the color of this dashboard matches the interior trim code of your vehicle, as replacing a mismatched dash is highly labor-intensive.

This assembly does not typically include the passenger airbag, instrument cluster, or center console trims unless specifically noted. You will need to transfer your existing modules, vents, and airbag cover. Installation requires the removal of the steering wheel, center console, and A-pillar interior trims.
