Mazda offered different tail light configurations for this generation depending on the trim package. You must verify whether your original assembly uses standard halogen bulbs or the upgraded LED signature lighting, as the wiring harnesses and connectors do not interchange. Confirm whether you are replacing the outer body-mounted quarter panel light or the inner trunk-mounted decklid light, as this is the left-side (driver) assembly. Inspect your vehicle's original pigtail connector for melted plastic or corrosion prior to installing the replacement unit.
