What this part does
The left side mirror mounts directly to the driver-side door skin and provides essential rearward and lateral visibility for lane changes and reversing. Modern assemblies contain the electric adjustment actuators, structural folding pivot points, and the wiring harness that links the unit to the door control module. Depending on the exact build specification, this assembly may also incorporate heating elements for defrosting, integrated LED turn signal repeaters, memory positioning sensors, and exterior puddle lights.
The aerodynamic outer housing is designed to minimize wind noise at highway speeds while sealing the sensitive internal electronics against moisture intrusion. When the internal gears strip, the housing suffers impact damage, the structural cast-aluminum base fractures, or the adjustment motors burn out, replacing the entire assembly is usually required to restore proper operation, prevent wind leaks, and ensure secure mounting to the door frame.

Before you order
Verify the pin count on your vehicle's door wiring harness connector before purchasing. Porsche produced the Cayenne mirrors with multiple complex feature configurations, including power-folding mechanisms, auto-dimming glass, memory positioning, and Lane Change Assist (blind-spot monitoring). If your vehicle is equipped with the surround-view system, the replacement housing must also feature the underside camera mount.
Installing an incompatible mirror will result in disabled features or fault codes stored in the vehicle's body control network. If the painted skull cap from your original mirror is undamaged, it can typically be unclipped and transferred onto this replacement housing to avoid painting costs, provided the structural mounting tabs on the cap remain intact.
