What this part does
The audio interface control module processes communication between external media devices, the iDrive infotainment screen, and the vehicle's audio amplifier. It sits on the vehicle's fiber optic network and handles tasks like Bluetooth pairing, USB device recognition, and auxiliary audio processing. In the BMW 7 Series, this module is typically located in the left side of the trunk behind the trim panel. When this component fails, drivers often experience a complete loss of Bluetooth connectivity, unresponsive USB ports, or the inability to select media sources within the iDrive menus.

Before you order
This module requires programming and coding to your vehicle's VIN using ISTA or equivalent diagnostic software before it will function correctly on the MOST bus network. You must match the OEM part number to your original unit, as BMW utilizes different audio interface modules depending on the specific infotainment and sound system packages (such as Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins) installed at the factory. Inspect the fiber optic cable connectors on your vehicle for damage or kinking before installation.
