What this part does
The engine bay sub-wiring harness routes electrical power and control signals from the engine control module directly to the ignition coils and fuel injectors. It mounts along the top of the cylinder heads, sitting deep within the engine valley or alongside the valve covers. Extreme engine temperatures eventually bake the protective insulation, leading to exposed wires or brittle connectors. When this harness fails, it causes persistent misfires, rough idling, communication fault codes, or an inability to fire the injectors and coils on the affected bank.

Before you order
The N63 and N63TU engines run exceptionally hot, meaning the plastic connectors and wiring insulation are highly susceptible to becoming brittle over time. Always verify the pinout and plug shapes against your original harness, as BMW made incremental changes to the ignition coil and injector connectors between early and later engine revisions. Since this set includes both the left and right bank harnesses, it is best practice to install both at the same time to prevent a secondary failure on the opposing bank.
